학령기 소아의 작은 키와 연관된 요인

연구배경: 최근 들어 소아의 평균 키가 증가하면서 키에 대한 관심이 커지고 있지만. 키와 관련된 요인에 대한 연구는 대부분 외국의 저개발국에서 수행된 것이 있을 뿐 영양공급이 충분한 소아를 대상으로 관련요인을 평가한 연구는 거의 없었다. 방법: 서울 시내 한 초등학교의 2학년과 6학년에 재학중인 남, 여 소아 449명을 대상으로 키와 체중을 측정하고 식이 습관, 출생 체중, 수유 방법, 신체활동, 수입, 부모의 키와 학력에 대한 자기 기입식 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 참여소아의 키 분포를 고려하여 하위 25%이하에 속하는 군과 그 보다 큰 군으로 분류하여 키가 하위 25% 이하인 것과 조사된 변수들 간의 독립적인 연관성을 다중 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통하여 평가하였다. 결과: 전체 대상자에서는 부모의 키가 작고 체질량지수가 정상 이하인 것이 키가 하위 25%에 속하는 것과 유의한 연관성이 있었다. 성별, 학년별 아집단 분석에서는 2학년 남아에서는 아버지의 키가 작은 것과 소아가 정상체중 이하인 것이, 6학년 남아에서는 어머니의 키가 작은 것이, 2학년 여아에서는 가계수입이 적은 것이, 6학년 여아에서는 규칙적인 운동을 하지 않는 것이 키가 하위 25%에 속하는 것과 유의한 연관성이 있었다. 결론: 키가 25%이하에 속하는 것과 유의한 연관성이 있는 요인은 성별, 학년별로 달랐으며, 남아의 경우 부모의 키와 연관성이 높았고 여아의 키는 운동이나 경제적 수준 같은 환경요인과 유의한 연관성이 있었다.
