베르그송 철학에 있어서 지속은 그의 사상 전체를 반영하는 대표 개념이다. 지속은 일상적인 용어로 시간, 변화, 흐름 등으로 옮길 수 있다. 그러나 지속은 일상적인 말보다 철학적인 의미로써 만물의 근원성을 표현하는 개념이다. 그래서 지속을 이해시키기 위해서 많은 용어들이 필요하다. 그 중 하나가 계기이다. 계기는 그의 철학적 개념으로 사용되지는 않는다. 주로 보충어인 형용사로 사용된다. 그러나 계기는 지속을 설명하는 다른 많은 개념들을 포괄할 수 있는 모태적 성격을 지닐 뿐만 아니라 그의 시간적 사유의 모습을 잘 간직하고 있다. 또한 지속이 현실적인 모습보다는 근원성의 모습을 보여준다면, 계기는 현실적으로 나타나는 지속의 모습을 잘 보여준다. 즉 지속이 실재의 모습이라면 계기는 현실의 모습이다. 따라서 이 논문은 계기를 적극적으로 개념화함으로써 지속의 현실적인 모습과 지속의 동일성을 확보하는 방식을 보여준다.
Abstract
In Bergson’s philosophy, Duration is a prime notion which reflects the totality of his thought. Duration can be translated to time, transformation(change), flow etc. But Duration expresses philosophical meaning instead of ordinary meaning. To understand Duration, many terms are needed . One of them is a succession. The succession is not used as a noun but an adjective in his philosophical notion. The succession has not only the matrix-character that can contain many other notions but also features of temporal thoughts. If Duration has original features more than actual features, the succession has Duration in an actual world. That is, if Duration is figure of real, the succession is figure of actual. Therefore, this essay shows actual figure of Duration and a method to make sure an identity of it.
