이 논문은 Gen AI의 활용과 관련된 연구윤리 물음을 저자 자격을 중심으로 고찰하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 필자는 논문 작성에 Gen AI의 활용을 허용할 수밖에없다는 전제 하에, 사례 분석을 통해 Gen AI가 저자 자격을 지니는지를 윤리학적으로분석하고자 한다. 이를 바탕으로 필자는 저자 자격의 필수 요건인 논문 작성에의 유의미한 기여, 자발적 동의, 이해가능성, 그리고 해명책임 조건을 Gen AI가 충족시킬 수있는지의 물음을 중국어 방 논변과 블랙박스 문제를 중심으로 비판적으로 천착할 것이다. 이러한 논의를 통해 필자는 윤리적 블랙박스 요건을 갖춘다면 Gen AI는 단독 저자 자격은 인정할 수 없지만 공동 저자 자격은 인정해야 한다고 결론적으로 주장하고자 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine questions of research ethics related to the use of Gen AI, focusing on author qualifications. To this end, I would like to ethically analyze whether Gen AI can be qualified as an author through case analysis, under the premise that the use of Gen AI would be allowed to write a thesis. Based on this, I will critically study the question of whether Gen AI can satisfy the essential requirements of author qualification, such as meaningful contribution to writing a thesis, voluntary consent, understandability, and accountability requirements, focusing on 'the Chinese room argument' and 'black box problem'. Through this discussion, I would like to argue in the conclusion that Gen AI does not possess sole author qualification, but can attain the co-author qualification if the ethical black box requirements are met.
