칸트 인식론에서의 타자:『판단력비판 』에서의 취미판단에 기초해서

서양의 근대 철학과 현대 철학을 구분 짓는 핵심어로는 언어, 존재(실존), 타자 등을 들 수 있겠는데, 그렇다면 과연 칸트의 선험 철학 즉 넓은 의미에서의 칸트 인식론에서 타자를 주제화하는 것은 가능할까? 선험적 통각(사유하는 나)에 입각해서 객관 일반의 인식 즉 이론적 인식의 가능성을 해명함으로써, 주지주의로 비판받는 칸트의 이론 철학을 떠올린다면, 우리는 타자를 겨냥해서 칸트 인식론을 읽어 내는 것에는 회의적일 수밖에 없는 것처럼도 보인다. 하지만 만약 우리가 판단력 일반의 주관적 조건에 입각해서 쾌의 감정에 기초한 취미판단을 통해 미적 대상을 규정하는 미감적 인식의 가능성을 해명하는 『판단력비판』으로 눈을 돌린다면, 그곳은 타자를 칸트 인식론 안에서 다룰 수 있는 풍부한 가능성을 내재하고 있다. 그러한 가능성에 주목하고자 하는 이 글은, 취미판단의 발생의 단계, 취미판단을 내리는 단계, 언표된 취미판단의 단계를 관통하는 타자의 얼굴을 기술하고자 한다.
Abstract
We can say that ‘language’, ‘being(existence)’, ‘the other’, etc. are the keywords to distinguish the contemporary philosophy from the modern philosophy. If this is correct, is it possible for Kant’s transcendental philosophy, i.e., his epistemology in a broad sense to thematize ‘the other’? Kant’s theoretical philosophy has been criticized as a kind of intellectualism, for his elucidation of the possibility of theoretical cognition (i.e., the cognition of object in general) is grounded in the transcendental apperception (I think). Therefore, it seems to be skeptical about reading Kant’s epistemology with focusing on the other. However, there are fruitful possibility to deal the other in Kant’s epistemology, if we look at the Critique of the Power of Judgment where he elucidates the possibility of aesthetic cognition (i.e., determining the beautiful through the judgment of taste which is based on the feeling of pleasure) by grounded in the subjective condition of the power of judgment in general. With paying attention to that possibility, this paper tries to describe the face of the other that flows under the genesis of the judgment of taste, to make the judgment of taste, and the pronounced judgment of taste.
