오늘날 과학계에서 시간과 공간을 하나의 단일한 사태로 이해한다. 이러한 시간과 공간에 관한 통일적 이해는 철학에서도 있어왔다. 예를 들어 칸트의 시간과 공간은 하나의 형식으로 안과 바깥으로 구별된다. 이렇듯 구별되는 시간과 공간을 단일한 사태로 이해하기 위해서 논자는 공간은 시간이 변화된 것, 즉 ‘시간의 공간화’라는 개념을 주장하였다. 이러한 주장을 뒷받침하기 위해서 헤겔의 『엔치클로페디』와 하이데거의 『존재와 시간』에서 시간과 공간의 관계를 비교하였다. 즉, 헤겔에서 어떻게 공간이 시간으로 형성되는지(2. 헤겔에서 시간의 공간화), 하이데거에서 어떻게 시간성이 공간성을 그리고 더 나아가 순수한 공간을 파생하는지(3. 하이데거에서 시간의 공간화) 살펴보았다. 헤겔의 공간은 시간점의 지양으로 형성되고, 하이데거의 공간은 시간성의 뻗침으로 발견된다. 마지막으로 두 철학자의 시간, 공간개념을 직접 비교하면서 시간의 공간화라는 개념을 확정 지었다(4. 결론).
Abstract
In the modern scientific community, space-time is understood as one thing. This understanding of time and space as one has existed in philosophy as well. For example, Kant's concept of time and space is one form. It is only differentiated between the inside and the outside. In order to understand time and space as one thing, I insisted on the concept of 'time changes and becomes space', that is, 'spatialization of time'. To support this claim, I compared the relationship between time and space in Hegel's Encyclopaedia of the Philosophical Sciences in Outline and Heidegger's Being and Time. In other words, I explored how space is formed by time in Hegel (2. Spatialization of time in Hegel), and how temporality derives spatiality and pure space in Heidegger (3. Spatialization of time in Heidegger). Hegel's space is formed by the sublation (Aufheben) of time points, and Heidegger's space is found as stretching of temporality. Finally, the concept of spatialization of time was confirmed by directly comparing the concepts of time and space in the two philosophers (4. Conclusion).
