Among various elements that can be used to understand contemporary trends in modern dance, three elements will be discussed in this study in reference to Ohad Naharin’s 「Deca Dance」, and the result of the study is as the following. First, the element of ‘the cultural tendency within community’ could be found in the episodes ‘Mabul’ and ‘Anaphaza’. Secondly, the element for ‘the popularization of dance culture’ could be found in the episode ‘Zachacha’. Thirdly, the element for ‘the types and movement of body in daily life’ is shown to be a dominant characteristic throughout the scenes of 「Deca Dance」, apart from the three episodes.
Abstract
