This study, which examines the deconstructivist aspect of the women body portrayed in contemporary dance, aims to look into the trend of contemporary women’s dance which deviates from the dichotomous value system and interprets gender in a new light. The study explores free expressions about the body regarding diversity, multilayeredness, and coexistence with pluralistic interpretation and inquires the minds and meanings of artists who have deviated from existing values and has materialized change and new thought into dance. This study will decode the deconstructivist view of the women body focusing on movement, subjectivity, body, and ethicality.
Abstract
This study, which examines the deconstructivist aspect of the women body portrayed in contemporary dance, aims to look into the trend of contemporary women’s dance which deviates from the dichotomous value system and interprets gender in a new light.
