This study aims to draw semiotic meanings in dance documentary on New York City Ballet, <city.ballet.>. The purpose of this study is to look into the hegemony, innate disposition, and the stereotype related to the ballet dancers implicit in <city.ballet.>. The researcher appreciate the documentary on the New York City Ballet as a cultural constructions between the fiction and the non-fiction, and wanted to further examine the signs documented in the clip that is used to deliver the purpose of creator's intention on the semiotic perspective.
Abstract
This study aims to draw semiotic meanings in dance documentary on New York City Ballet, <city.ballet.>.
