Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the metabolic syndrome according to the participation of physical activity in elderly women. The subjects of this study was 1114 elder women with aged range between 40 and over 60 ages over. Each participation of physical activity was divided by 2 phases(more than 4 times vs less than 3 times per week) then we compared the risk factor of metabolic syndrome. The syndrome rate of 40's women was less than 50's and 60's over in non-exercise women. In all range of aged, the syndrome rate of women who participated exercise was less than non-exercise women, especially vigorous exercise women less 3 times showed less syndrome rate. Waist of 60's over women was higher than 40's and 50's in same level of physical activity. 50's and 60's women who joined exercise 4 times per week except 40's showed the highest HDL-C among the exercise participants. In all ages, women who participated vigorous exercise 4 times/week showed the lower diastolic pressure than non-exercise women. Exercise participants in all level of density in 60's had lower blood glucose than non-exercise.
