Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare seasonal metabolic syndrome according to the participation of physical activity in elderly women. The subjects of this study was 1850 elder women with aged 50 over. Depending on the participation of exercises level including over 3time/week, 30minutes/time and 3month over, all of the participation were divided into two group: active group vs non-active group. We compared the risk factor of metabolic syndrome. The results were follow such as : seasonal metabolic syndrome prevalence were different according to the participation of exercise. Especially in fall and winter metabolic syndrome prevalence decreased by participation of exercise with level of 3times/week, over 30min/time, and over 3month duration. However the metabolic syndrome markers had no difference according group(active group vs non-active group) instead of seasonal difference. These results led to the conclusion that physical activity such as leisure might be more benefit to the decrease of metabolic syndrome prevalence in all of season.
