Korean Minimalism dance was the manifestation of eastern thought which was very familiar to Koreans. Aesthetics of “Move in the Stillness” - subtle movement in stillness, aesthetics of extreme equilibrium and temperance, and the state of completeness connected to stream of con sciousness – was the basis of Korean minimalism. In addition, Korean Minimalism developed in relation to the Chinese ideas-ideas that things would go as they were destined to without ex ternal interference – and “Ideas of Energy” - that is, things would move harmoniously by their own energy, which flourished in the Oriental paintings. Minimalism in Korean dance had a different backgrounds from the Occident which could be thought more spiritual and could be found in the traditional ideas of the Orient.
