본 연구의 목적은 수상스포츠 참여자의 활동 방해요소에 대한 스트레스 수준, 인지적 평가 및 대처행동 간의 인과적 관계를 분석하는데 있다. 나아가, 수상스포츠 참여자를 청평호 지역에 대한 장소귀속감이 높은 집단과 낮은 집단으로 나누어 장소귀속감이 연구모형에 대하여 조절효과(moderating effect)를 가져오는지 동질성 검증을 실시하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 경기도 가평군 청평호의 수상스포츠 참여자 462명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석방법은 SPSS 18.0과 LISREL 8.70을 이용하여 확인적 요인분석, 구조방정식모형분석, 그리고 동질성 검증을 사용하였다. 연구결과로는 첫째, 수상스포츠 참여자의 활동 방해요소에 대한 스트레스 수준은 인지적 평가에 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 수상스포츠 참여자의 활동 방해요소에 대한 인지적 평가는 행동적 대처행동 선택에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 수상스포츠 참여자의 활동 방해요소에 대한 인지적 평가는 인지적 대처행동 선택에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 수상스포츠 활동 장소에 대한 장소귀속감이 높은 집단과 낮은 집단의 스트레스 인지, 평가 및 대처행동 선택의 인과관계에는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 본 연구는 스트레스-대처행동 이론을 야외 여가활동 상황에서 확인하는 한편, 수상스포츠 관리 실무자들이 더 나은 여가활동 환경을 조성할 수 있도록 참고할 수 있는 자료가 될 것이다.
Abstract
In the field of water-based sports, there has been a lack of research on how place attachment plays a role in people's perception of stressful situation and their choice of coping strategies. This investigation examined the moderating role of place attachment on the relationship between stress level, appraisal, and coping strategies among water-based sports participants. Data collected from 462 visitors to Lake Chungpyung, Korea, offered support for our hypothesized model. Results indicated that higher levels of stress in water-based sports situations had a positive impact on appraisal of potentially stressful factors at the lake. The appraisal of stressful situation also had positive impacts on behavioral (i.e., displacement, resource, activity, temporal substitution, and direct action) and cognitive coping (i.e., rationalization). For the moderating effect of place attachment, our invariance testing illustrated that water-based sports participants with higher place attachment tended to select diverse types of behavioral coping while those with lower place attachment considered fewer coping options.
