Abstract

This study systematically analyzed the instructional design structure of Teaching Artists in integrated arts education linked to the curriculum. Integrated arts education connects academic subjects and the arts, promoting learners' creative thinking and artistic expression while providing profound learning experiences through systematic design. The research employed a qualitative approach using phenomenological methods. In-depth interviews were conducted with five Teaching Artists with over 10 years of experience, and the data were analyzed following Colaizzi’s (1978) analysis procedure. Expert meetings were also conducted to ensure the reliability of the findings, which resulted in the identification of a five-stage instructional design structure: planning, research, development, implementation, and assessment. The instructional design structure proposed in this study provides Teaching Artists with concrete and systematic guidelines for effectively integrating the curriculum with the arts. These findings are expected to enhance the implementation of integrated arts education and support students’ creativity and artistic development through the fusion of arts and academic subjects.
