본 연구는 교사양성교육과정 개선을 위해 새롭게 도입, 시행하는 ‘교육봉사’ 과목의 운영 전략으로서 Service-Learning을 도입, 이에 기반한 ‘교육봉사’과목의 운영 전략을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 예비교사 대상으로 이루어진 Service-Learning 운영 사례를 탐색하였으며, 현재 이루어지고 있는 교육봉사 과목의 운영방법과 현직 교사들의 교육봉사활동 요구를 파악하였다. 연구결과 대부분의 대학들이 학생들의 봉사시간만 확인하는 형태로 과목을 운영하고 있었고, 현직 교사들은 교수학습활동, 학생생활지도, 행정업무보조 등의 영역에서 봉사활동이 이루어지기 원하고 있었다. 교육봉사가 이루어지는 현장의 요구와 교육봉사 교과목의 설립취지를 고려하면 Service-Learning의 방식으로 운영되는 것이 바람직할 것이다. 즉, 관련 교직이론 및 전공 교과목과 교육봉사 과목이 연계 운영되며, 예비교사들이 자신의 봉사활동을 설계할 수 있어야 하며, 충분한 성찰이 이루어질 수 있도록 다양한 성찰질문을 제공하고 성찰내용을 공유하고 평가할 수 있는 기회가 제공되어야 한다. 이를 위해 대학은 지역사회와 파트너십을 형성하고 지역의 실제적 필요를 파악하는 등의 적극적인 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다.

Abstract

The new course, 'educational service' have been included in the educational program for pre-service teacher in order to improve the program. The purpose of this study was to present strategies of design & implement on this course based on Service-Learning. The Service-learning combines service activities with students' learning in a way that improves both the students and the community. A literature review and a qualitative survey were performed to find out strategies. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1) Most of university managed their 'educational service' course by checking students' volunteering times. 2) In-service teachers want to be implemented in the following areas; teaching-learning, student guidance, and administration. Therefore, 'Educational service' course should be managed by considering the next strategies. First, 'Educational service' course should be connected with 'educational theory' course. Second, students should design their volunteering activities. Third, the course contains reflection guidance. Fourth, universities try to make partnership with their community and know it's volunteering needs.
