본 연구는 사이버교육을 수행하고 있는 정부인가 및 사설 사이버대학에서 제공하고 있는 교육용 콘텐츠를 대상으로 웹 접근성 분석 및 평가를 수행하여 고령층과 장애인과 같은 특수계층에도 효율적인 서비스를 제공하기 위한 방향을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구 방법으로는 웹 접근성 평가 분석 도구인 A-Prompt를 사용하여 ‘웹 콘텐츠 접근성 지침(KWCAG)1.0’ 준수 여부에 대한 실험을 하였으며, W3C의 Markup Validation Service를 통해 HTML 표준 문법 검사를 함께 수행하였다. 평가결과 대부분의 콘텐츠가 인식 및 운용, 이해의 용이성과 기술의 진보성 등의 세부 항목에서 접근성 오류가 많은 것으로 측정되었다. 이것은 웹 표준을 준수하지 않는 것은 물론 특수계층을 위한 접근성 고려를 하지 않고 콘텐츠를 제작하기 때문인 것으로 분석된다. 이러한 접근성 부재의 문제는 정보 격차(Information Division) 현상을 더욱 가중시키게 될 것이다. 따라서 이와 같은 문제의 해결 및 사이버교육의 대중화를 위해 교육용 콘텐츠의 접근성 적용이 반드시 고려되어야 한다.
Abstract
This paper has a goal of suggesting a way to provide efficient services to the old and the disabled by analyzing and estimating the web accessibility to the education contents that government-approved and private cyber Universities provide. It used A-Prompt, a web accessibility estimation and analysis tool, to find out if they observe ‘Korean Web-Content Accessibility Guide line (KWCAG)1.0’. It also checked HTML standard grammar through W3C’s Markup Validation Service. The result showed that the most of contents was not good in recognition, operation, easy understanding and progressiveness in technology. It means that they manufacture contents not observing the web standard and not considering the accessibility of special people. The problem of low accessibility may deepen the information division among people. It is required to consider the accessibility of educational contents to solve the problem and to widen the cyber education.
