e-Learning 교수자의 사용 용이성 제고를 위한 컨텐츠 저작도구(e-Professor) 개발 사례연구

e-Learning을 통한 학습과정은 다양한 형태의 정보 및 자원들을 신속하게 제공할 수 있고, 학교 밖의 실제 세계의 과제나 문제해결 활동에 자유롭게 참여할 수 있는데다가, 동료 학습자나 전문가 등과의 상호작용을 통한 협력학습이 가능하다는 특징을 가지기도 한다. 그러나 e-Learning 교수-학습 시스템을 통한 교육의 방식이 모든 교육자들로부터 환영을 받고 있는 것만은 아니다. 본 연구에서는 전통적인 수업방식에 비해 상대적으로 다양한 교육적 가능성을 제공하는 혁신적 방법인 e-Learning 교수-학습 시스템의 성공적 확산을 위한 노력의 일환으로, 이 혁신의 능동적인 도입자가 될 수 있는 대학의 교수자들을 위한 e-Learning 강좌개발 도구의 개발 사례를 제시해 보고자 한다. e-Professor는 워드 수준의 ICT 활용능력을 가진 교수자라면 누구나 손쉽게 강의자료를 웹으로 탑재할 수 있으며, 음성녹음 등의 기능도 제공하는 저작도구이다. e-Professor 프로그램을 교수자의 PC에 인스톨하고 이를 통해 학교 e-Learning 사이트에 들어가 본인의 교수실에 들어가면 e-Learning 강좌개발을 시작할 수 있다. 또한 e-Professor는 윈도우 탐색기와 유사한 컨텐츠 관리도구를 포함하고 있어, 과목별․주별 강의록․쪽별 강의컨텐츠의 관리가 손쉽게 이루어진다. 본 연구에서는 e-Professor 프로그램의 구조와 기능에 대한 간략한 내용도 포함하고 있다.
Abstract
E-learning is a networked phenomenon allowing for instant revisions and distribution, and goes beyond training and instruction to the delivery of information and tools to improve performance. The benefits of e-learning are many, including cost-effectiveness, enhanced responsiveness to change, consistency, timely content, flexible accessibility, and providing customer value. The proponents of e-learning stress the importance of using communities of interest to support and enhance the learning process. They also emphasizes that people learn more effectively when they interact and are involved with other people participating in similar endeavors. Although the role of e-learning in higher education has significantly increased, the resistance to new technology by professors and lecturers in university and colleges worldwide remains high. In this paper, we introduce new contents authoring tool, which we named as "e-Professor", and share the experiences from using this tool for actual classes. E-professor is designed mainly for the faculty members with average level of ICT skills, so that any one with 2-3 hours of training can develop the e-learning contents for classes. Experiment results indicate that using e-professor can influence the ease of use in developing class contents, which in turn, improves perceptions of usefulness of e-learning system.
