Abstract
This study investigates the effects of self-directed learning ability and e-learning experience on job-seeking efficacy among young job seekers, focusing on the mediating role of meaningful learning. An online survey was conducted with 3,483 individuals in their 20s and 30s who took job-related e-learning courses through the Cyber Career Education Center of the Korea Employment Information Service. The results indicate that both self-directed learning ability and e-learning experiences significantly influence job-seeking efficacy. Furthermore, self-directed learning ability and e-learning experiences indirectly affect job-seeking efficacy through meaningful learning, which was confirmed to have a partial mediating effect. These findings offer practical implications for the design of e-learning-based job-seeking support programs, highlighting the importance of enhancing self-directed learning skills, promoting meaningful learning, and supporting learner engagement and motivation in e-learning environment. However, since this study was conducted on a specific group of e-learning platform users, there are limitations in generalizing the findings. Future research should include a more diverse sample and apply objective validation methods. Additionally, longitudinal and qualitative studies are necessary to further analyze the process of job-seeking efficacy development and provide a deeper understanding of job seekers’ learning experiences.
