Abstract
In this paper, I challenge the widespread idea that Humean theories concerning laws, causation, and explanation are more empiricism-friendly than anti-Humean theories. According to my argument, if we use a very strong criterion of empiricism affinity, neither Humeans theories nor anti-Humean theories are empiricism-friendly to the same degree, whereas if we use a sufficiently generous criterion, anti-Humean theories are more empiricism-friendly than Humean theories. On this basis, I argue that rational empiricists should prefer anti-Humean theories over Humean theories.
