Abstract

This study explored the influence of motivation, perceived value, and satisfaction on the intention of university students to continuously participate in distance-based team learning COVID-19. To this end, the study derived variables that had influenced the continuous participation intention in distance-based team learning and formed an optimized model for the relationship between variables. Additionally, in this study, the utilitarian, social, and hedonic motives related to distance-based team learning were set as exogenous variables, and the perceived value and satisfaction of distance-based team learning were set as mediators. Furthermore, the study structurally explored the influence on continuous participation intention. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the selected research participants were predominantly university students who had participated in complete distance-based team learning for both the first and second semesters of 2020. Accordingly, first, the study found that perceived value had the greatest direct and indirect effect on the intention to continuously participate in team activities. Second, the study found that hedonic motivation had the second-largest influence, directly or indirectly, on the intention to continuously participate in team activities. Third, the indirect influence of utilitarian motivation on the continuous participation intention toward distance-based team learning could be structurally grasped through perceived value and satisfaction. This study presented effective plans and implications for online distance team learning performed in a remote situation.
