Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out whether college students who experienced emergnecy remote teaching caused by the COVID-19 pandemic want to continue taking remote classes, and to find the educational implications of it. To this end, an empirical study was conducted on the structural relationship between expectations of distance learning, perceived usefulness, learning satisfaction, and continuing course taking intention by using the expection-confirmation model(ECM). In addition, it was attempted to explore whether there is a difference in the relationship between variables in synchronous remote teaching and asynchronous one. For the study, an online survey was conducted on 629 college students who had taken distance classes for two or more semesters in 2021. The results showed that the ECM was found to be meaningful in predicting learners' continuous course taking intention in the remote learning situation, and that it could be applied regardless of types of synchronous. The ECM had also a greater effect on the intention to continue taking the course overall than the perceived usefulness. The direct effect and indirect effect of the ECM on learning satisfaction were similar, suggesting that the mediating effect of perceived usefulness is important. The results of this study are expected to contribute in part to the direction and significance of distance education in our education after the implementation of ERT.
