Abstract

The Purpose of this Study is to analyze and compare the ideologies of political education in South and North Korea, hoping to find out the desirable orientation for the future. The citizens of both Korea have developed the extreme hostility against each other in the process of founding and developing each country's government. The politicians in South and North Korea have not only provided the residents with the rigid ideologies, but also strengthened their political power through making people feel the mood of extreme crisis. The contents of political education in South and North Korea still focus on the confirmation of each country's political system. However, the genuine purpose of political education should be fostering the desirable persons. In this regard the contents of the political education in South and North Korea needs to be transformed into those of rearing the desirable characteristics, sound value systems and good thinking minds.
