부모의 교육적 성공에 대한 인식 및 자녀에 대한 학업관여와 청소년의 심리적 분리 사이의 관계

본 연구는 부모의 교육적 성공에 대한 인식(학교성적 중시, 학력·학벌 중시, 헌신적 지원)과 자녀에 대한 학업관여(학업관리, 학습조력, 자율적 학습 독려)가 청소년의 심리적 분리(정서적 독립, 갈등적 독립)에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기, 강원도에 거주하는 중고등학생 354명으로부터 수집한 자료를 다중회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 분석결과는 첫째, 부모의 교육적 성공에 대한 인식의 하위 요인 중 학력·학벌 중시는 정서적 독립과 긍정적 관련성이있었고 헌신적 지원은 정서적 독립과 부정적 관련성이 있었다. 둘째, 자녀에 대한 학업관여의 하위 요인 중 학습조력및 자율적 학습 독려는 정서적 독립과 부정적 관련성이 있었다. 셋째, 부모의 교육적 성공에 대한 인식의 하위 요인중 학교성적 중시는 갈등적 독립과 부정적 관련성이 있었다. 넷째, 자녀에 대한 학업관여 하위 요인 중 자율적 학습독려는 갈등적 독립과 긍정적 관련성이 있었다. 본 연구는 자녀의 사회적 성공을 위한 부모의 교육적 열의가 자녀의심리적 독립에 복합적으로 영향을 미침을 경험적으로 확인했다는 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study examined the effects of parents’ perceptions of educational success (emphasis on good GPA, entering prestigious universities, and parental devotion) and intervention in their children's learning (learning management, learning support, and encouragement of autonomous learning) on adolescents’ psychological separation (emotional independence and conflictual independence). To this end, data were collected from 354 secondary school students (8th, 9th, and 10th grade). Multiple regression analyses revealed the following. First, emphasis on entering prestigious universities was positively related to adolescents’ emotional independence while emphasis on parental devotion had a negative relationship. Second, emphasis on good GPA had a negative association with adolescents’ conflictual independence. Third, learning support and encouragement of autonomous learning were negatively associated with adolescents’ emotional independence. Fourth, encouragement of autonomous learning had a positive relationship with adolescents’ conflictual independence. This study empirically identifies that parents’ educational perceptions and involvement have an effect on adolescents’ psychological separation in different ways.
