지각된 부모자녀관계가 중학생의 학습몰입에 미치는 영향: 자기결정성 동기의 매개효과

초록

본 연구에서는 청소년이 지각한 부모자녀관계가 이들의 학습몰입에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 선행연구에 기초하여 지각된 부모자녀관계와 학습몰입의 관계를 자기결정성이 매개하는 모형을 설정하고, 모형의 적합도 및 변인들의 직간접효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 수도권에 소재하는 중학생(N=420)을 대상으로, 부모자녀관계 질문지, 한국형 학업적 자기조절 설문지, 학습몰입 척도를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 부모의 지지수준이 높을수록 자율성 동기는 높아지고, 타율성 동기는 낮아지며, 이는 각각 학습몰입을 높이는 방향으로 작용했다. 이와 같이 부모의 지지는 자녀의 자기결정성 동기를 통해 학습몰입에 간접적으로 정적인 영향을 미치는 한편, 자녀의 학습몰입에는 직접적으로 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 드러났다. 둘째, 부모의 성취압력 수준이 높을수록 자녀의 타율성 동기를 높이고, 이는 학습몰입을 방해하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 부모의 높은 성취압력은 자녀의 학습몰입에 직접적으로 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 한국적 문화와 맥락에서 의미 있는 결과로 보인다. 이로써, 부모의 지지적인 태도는 자녀의 자율성 동기는 높이고 타율성 동기는 낮춤으로써 자녀의 학습몰입에 긍정적인 영향을 미치게 되고, 부모의 성취압력은 자녀의 학습몰입에 직접적으로 어느 정도는 긍정적인 영향을 미치나, 성취압력이 자녀의 타율성 동기를 높이는데 기여함으로써 자녀의 학습몰입에 부정적 영향을 미칠 가능성도 동시에 지니고 있는 것으로 보인다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 제한점과 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.

Abstract

This study examined the mediating effects of adolescent's self-determinated motivation on the relationship between parent-adolescent relationship and middle school students' learning flow. The Parent-child Relationship Scales, Korean Academic Self-Regulation Questionnaire and Learning Flow Scales were administered to 420 middle school students(mean age=14.97) in Seoul Metropolitan area. The results showed that parental support influenced students' learning flow fully mediated by adolescent's self-determinated motivation. Parent’s achievement pressure influenced students' learning flow partially mediated by adolescent's self-determinated motivation. Also, parent’s achievement pressure was related to student' learning flow directly. Finally, based on the finding results, the implications and limitation of this study were discussed.
