Abstract

Lee, H. Y. The Analysis of Biochemical Bone Markers, State of Menstruation and Eating Disorder in Ballet Dancers. Exercise Science, 14(2): 153-170, 2005. This study consists of 86 subjects, 54 professional dancers group, and 32 control group with abnormal and normal eating and menstruation disorders. Eating and menstruation disorders were investigated depending on the presence and absence of eating and menstruation. The subjects were divided into two groups : normal and abnormal. A study of their effects was conducted on sex hormones and biochemical bone markers. The investigated results of sex hormones, biochemical bone markers were as follows;1. When comparing the sex hormones and the biochemical bone markers, which depend on the presence and absence of eating and menstruation disorders, there were significant differences between the ballet and control groups. And E2, LH and PRG of normal group were showed higher than those of abnormal group in menstruation state. PRL were showed significant difference in group-menstrual history interaction. 2..When comparing which depends on the presence and absence of eating and menstruation disorders, ALP and OC between the menstrual groups, and ALP between the eating groups were showed significant differences. ALP and NTx in group-menstrual history interaction and OC and DPD in group-eating state interaction were showed significant differences.3. In the analyzing of the effects of variables that affect eating and menstruation, the higher concentration of FSH and the lower concentration of E2, the larger the effects on eating disorders. And the lower concentration of LH, and the higher concentration of ALP, FSH, and PRL the larger the effects on menstruation disorders.
