유방암 생존자와 돌봄 제공자의 외상 후 성장에 관한 내러티브 탐구: 돌봄 경험을 중심으로

이 연구는 유방암 생존자와 돌봄 제공자의 돌봄 경험을 중심으로 외상 후 성장을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위한연구문제는 첫째, 유방암 생존자와 돌봄 제공자의 돌봄 경험은 어떠한가? 둘째, 돌봄을 경험한 유방암 생존자와 돌봄제공자의 외상 후 성장은 어떠한가? 이다. 이를 위하여 유방암 생존자(4명)와 돌봄 제공자(4명)를 연구참여자로 선정하고, 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 결과, '암 진단 무렵', '암 진단의 충격', '외상 경험의 의미 탐색', '암을통한 성장과 다시 살아가기'가 도출되었다. 유방암 생존자는 돌봄 제공자의 돌봄 경험을 통해 주어진 삶에 대한 감사를깨닫게 되었다. 돌봄 제공자의 외상 경험은 유방암 생존자에게 돌봄을 제공하며 승화되었다. 유방암 생존자와 돌봄제공자 모두 돌봄 경험을 통한 외상 후 성장을 확인한 것에서 이 연구의 의의를 찾는다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 암에대한 인식개선 및 후속 연구 등을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study aimed to explore post-traumatic growth focused on the care experiences of breast cancer survivors and caregivers. The research questions for this study were: First, what are the care experiences of breast cancer survivors and caregivers? Second, what is the post-traumatic growth of breast cancer survivors and caregivers who have experienced caring? To this end, breast cancer survivors (4 people) and caregivers (4 people) were selected as research participants, and data were collected through in-depth interviews. The research results were derived from 'around the time of cancer diagnosis', 'shock of cancer diagnosis', 'exploring the meaning of traumatic experience', and 'growth through cancer and living again'. Breast cancer survivors realized gratitude for the life given through the caring experience of caregivers. The traumatic experience of caregivers was sublimated through providing care to breast cancer survivors. The significance of this study is found in the fact that both breast cancer survivors and caregivers confirmed post-traumatic growth through the caring experience. Based on the research results, suggestions were made for improving awareness of cancer and follow-up research.
