이번 연구의 목적은 도덕발달에서 문화의 영향을 고려하고 이를 도덕교육에서 어떻게 활용할 수 있을 것인지를 검토하는데 있다. 도덕교육에서 미래 삶을 이끌어 갈 수 있는 도덕적 인간의 육성이라는 과제는 보다 다양한 상황들을 고려한다. 도덕적 성장과 발달은 일정부분 사회마다 또는 시기마다 요구된 특정한 목적을 지향했던 적도 있지만, 포괄적으로 인류가 경험해 온 삶을 토대로 전개된다. 이는 문화의 발달 경로이기도 하다. 따라서 이번 연구에서는 문화 개념의 다의적 특성에서 발달을 이해하고, 도덕심리학과 도덕철학의 상호연계성을 갖는 콜버그의 도덕발달에서 문화의 다의적 특징을 살펴본 다음, 다양한 문화적 실제들을 극복할 수 있는 도덕교육의 방법을 살펴보기로 한다.
Abstract
This paper aims to consider the influence of culture on moral development and to explore how it is utilized in moral education. In moral education, the main task of the growth of moral agents is examined in various environments. By times or by societies, on the one hand, there is any specific or absolute goal for morality; on the other hand, a general view of human lives in history is paralleled with the road of cultural development. At that point, this study would pay attention to the polysemy of the concept of culture in Kohlberg’s theory of moral development and try to find moral methods in education to overcome some problems due to cultural diversity.
