과학ㆍ기술ㆍ사회의 관련성이 긴밀해짐에 따라 과학 연구자들의 책임있는 연구 수행이 과학계는 물론 사회의 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 많은 과학 연구들이 대규모의 공공지원 하에 이루어지는 현 상황에서, 과학 연구자의 윤리적 일탈은 과학 연구자 개인은 물론 학계의 신뢰와 사회, 경제, 문화에 악영향을 줄 수 있기에, 과학 연구자의 연구윤리에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 과학 연구의 충실성을 함양할 수 있는 연구윤리교육 프로그램을 개발하고자 하였다. 연구윤리교육의 필요성이 거론되고 있지만 아직 본격적인 연구사례들이 없기 때문에, 연구윤리교육을 시행하고 있는 미국의 사례연구들을 주로 검토하여, 바람직한 연구윤리교육 프로그램의 목적, 내용, 방법 등을 모색해 보았다. 본 연구에서는 과학 연구윤리의 자율성과 실천적 성격을 반영하는 독립강좌기반 사례중심접근 프로그램을 연구윤리교육의 바람직한 모델로 주장하며, 효과적인 사례중심접근의 연구윤리교육이 될 수 있도록 사례의 유형과 활용방안을 논하였다.
Abstract
As the science has been increasing in connection with technology and society, the responsible research of scientists has become a salient issue in the society as well as scientific community. Because a lot of researches take place under public or private support, irresponsible research conduct can undermine the trust the public has in researchers, and lead to decisions that cause public and personal harm. and then, it has been put great attention in the research ethics. This paper aims to provide an overview of the case-based approach in the research ethics education program. Although the necessity of research ethics education is arguing, little research has been conducted on the how to make up the research ethics education. and then, I will attempt to suggest the purpose, content and method of education. In this paper I will insist the case based approach in the research ethics education program with the format of a stand alone course. and discuss how to analysis and use the case.
