북한 핵실험이 국내 경제에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구- 언론의 의제설정 및 증시 변화를 중심으로

이 논문은 북한의 6차례의 핵실험이 우리 증시에 미치는 영향을 분석해 봄으로써 핵실험이 우리 경제에 미치는 영향을 파악해보고자 하였다. 아울러 핵실험이 우리 경제에 미치는 영향에 대한 언론의 보도태도를 분석하고, 이것이 실제 증시의 변화와 어느 정도 일치하는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구결과 북한 핵실험이 우리 경제, 그 가운데에서도 직접적인 영향을 바로 파악할 수있는 주식시장에 미치는 영향은 실질적으로 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 마찬가지로 이를둘러싼 언론의 보도태도 역시 피상적인 수준에 머물렀다. 이러한 결과는 북한 핵실험이우리에게 주는 경제적 위협이 다소 과장된 수준임을 보여주는 것으로, 북핵문제가 우리경제 전반에 미치는 영향에 대해 다시 한번 검토할 필요성을 제기하고 있다. 그동안 우리는 북한 핵문제의 경제적 위협을 과대평가하면서 이를 둘러싼 우리 사회 내부의 남남갈등을 확대재생산하여 왔다. 하지만 실제 북한 핵실험이 우리 경제에 별다른영향을 미치지 못하고 있음을 주식시장의 지표는 물론이고 주요 언론의 보도내용으로도확인한 만큼, 불필요한 정치적 논쟁을 최소화하고 북핵 해결을 위한 생산적인 영역으로정책의 방향을 전환하여야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This paper attempts to analyze the impact of the North Korean nuclear crisis on our economy by analyzing the impact of North Korea’s six nuclear tests on our stock market. In addition, this paper analyzed the press attitude of the North Korean nuclear issue on our economy and tried to examine the extent to which this is in line with actual stock market changes. As a result, the North Korean nuclear test has had a negligible effect on the Korean stock market, which has a direct impact on the Korean economy. Similarly, the attitude of the media coverage surrounding it also stayed on a superficial level. These results show that the economic threat posed by North Korea’s nuclear issue is somewhat exaggerated, and it is necessary to review the impact of the North Korean nuclear issue on our economy as a whole. In the meantime, we overestimated the economic threat of the North Korean nuclear issue and expanded and reproduced the South-South conflict within our society. However, we can confirm that the actual North Korean nuclear test has not had a significant impact on our economy as well as the indicators of the stock market and media reports. Now, it is necessary to minimize the unnecessary political debate and to change the direction of the policy as a productive area to solve the North Korean nuclear issue.
