Abstract

Employees who have high level of Machiavellism take advantage of organizational politics and gain profit. Therefore, there is a positive relationship between machiavellism and perceived organizational politics, and the perceived organizational politics affects stress level and job satisfaction. Based on these prior evidences, this study has examined the influence of organizational justice, in terms of organizational system, on Machiavellian's perceived organizational politics which affects stress and job satisfaction. As a result of analyzing 330 public officials working in domestic public institutions, the mediating effect of Machiavellism on job attitude variables through perceived organizational politics was verified, along with indirect effects. Using PROCESS MODEL MACRO of Preacher, Rucker and Hayes(2007; 2008), conditional indirect effect of Machiavellism was significant at low, middle, and high levels. Likewise, the moderated mediation effect of organizational justice on the mediating effect of Machiavellism – Perceived organizational politics - job attitude variables was verified. And the conditional indirect effect of organizational justice was significant at middle and high levels. In addition, graphs of each supported effect were illustrated and implications were suggested.
