A variety of information is required to rationally utilize and scientifically manage the marine ecosystems. Even though a lot of projects & investigations for gathering information on marine ecosyst- ems have recently been developed by public sectors like governments, universities, and nation institutes, they still have weak points to improve : information compatibility as well as the coordination framework among individual investigations and databases. This paper reviews the current information management systems on marine ecosystems of both Korea and other countries, and suggests policy alternatives of information management of marine ecosystems for the better information manage- ment of marine ecosystems in Korea.
