초록
This study, spanning from 2003 to 2023 and based on the Korea Citation Index (KCI) criteria, includes indexed and candidate journals as well as dissertations. A search was conducted on KISS, eArticl e, KERIS, KISTI, DBpia, and RISS to find papers using the keywords ‘ADHD,’ ‘exercise,’ and ‘physical activity’ in titles and abstracts. The collected keywords were then analyzed to explore the structural network between ‘ADHD,’ ‘exercise,’ and ‘physical activity’ keywords. The conclusions drawn from this analysis are as follows: 1. From 2003 to 2023, research related to ‘ADHD,’ ‘exercise,’ and ‘physical activity’ amounted to 99 papers, reaching its peak in 2012 with 12 papers (12.1%). However, recent trends indicate a shortage of research in this domain. 2. Word cl oud resul ts reveal ed that ‘psychomotor exercise’ appeared with the highest frequency at 44 occurrences, along with notable frequencies for ‘ADHD children and adolescents,’ ‘attention,’ ‘focus,’ ‘executive function,’ and ‘exercise programs.’ 3. Keyword centrality analysis identified ‘psychomotor exercise,’ ‘attention,’ ‘ADHD children and adolescents,’ and ‘focus’ as pivotal keywords with high centrality, and ‘psychomotor exercise’ played a significant mediator role in the network. 4. Topic analysis delineated four main topics: Topic 1 related to ‘psychomotor exercise,’ Topic 2 related to the ‘effects of exercise programs,’ Topic 3 related to ‘treatment and intervention,’ and Topic 4 related to ‘young children and special sports.’ In summary, recent trends indicate a shortage of research in ADHD and exercise-related studies. Important keywords and topics such as ‘psychomotor exercise,’ ‘effects of exercise programs,’ ‘treatment and intervention,’ and ‘young children and special sports’ have been identified. Therefore, future research should focus on the effective design and implementation of psychomotor exercise programs, explore new exercise intervention programs, and conduct in-depth investigations into which types of exercise are most effective for improving ADHD symptoms and the characteristics of programs that show distinct effects, thus seeking efficient treatment and intervention strategies for ADHD.
