초록

This study was designed to research 12 weeks circuit training as a golf fitness conditioning strategy on the golf performance of amateur collegiate male players. Total 36 amateur male undergraduate golf players with all handicap levels were recruited for the study. The participants were randomly separated into two groups: training group (TG; n=18) and control group (CG; n=18). The experiment of TG was conducted to work exercise which was consisted of 30 minutes warm-up and 30 minutes circuit training with one hour golf practice two times a week in the outdoor driving range for 12 weeks, meanwhile, the experiment procedure of CG was practiced to play golf with 30 minutes warm-up session. The intensity of circuit training was maintained to 70% ~75% of the measured target heart rate monitored by polar device during exercise sessions. The golf performance data (smash factor, ball speed, club speed, hang time, and carry) collected by Trackman radar doppler device were compared between two groups after 12 weeks. The study found that the most of golf performance variables in TG revealed superiority compare to CG after 12 weeks. The results of the present study conclude 12 weeks circuit training as a conditioning program could serve a positive effect on golf performance improvement for golfers. Also, it may have suggestion that the circuit training could be an applicable conditioning strategy to improve golf performance for players respectively.
