목적 : 본 연구는 응급실 간호사의 대처방식을 파악하고 공감만족과 공감피로에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위한 서술적 상관관계연구이다. 방법 : 본 연구는 2013년 3월 초부터 4월말까지 D광역시와 C지역 소재 종합병원 이상에 근무하는 응급실 간호사를 대상으로 배부한 설문지 170부를 분석하였다. 자료는 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, 상관관계분석, 단계적 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 결과 : 공감피로 중 소진은 정서표출이 이차적 외상스트레스는 실질적 지원추구가 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 공감만족은 적극적 대처, 정서표출, 직위, 긍정적 해석, 자기비판이 공감만족을 42%설명하였다. 결론 : 중간경력자들의 공감피로가 높고 공감만족이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 그들이 간호사로써의 능력을 향상 시킬 수 있는 자기개발의 기회가 주어져야하며 개인의 대처방식이 공감피로, 공감만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 보아 긍정적인 대처방식을 강화할 수 있는 중재가 필요하다.
Abstract
Purpose: This was a descriptive correlation study to identify emergency room (ER) nurses’ coping types andfactors affecting compassion satisfaction (CS) and compassion fatigue. Methods: During March and April 2013,170 questionnaires were distributed to ER nurses working in general hospitals in D and C regions. Data wereanalyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and stepwise regression analysis. Results: Compassion fatigue was most strongly affected by emotional expression for burnout and by practicalsupport pursuit for secondary traumatic stress. Positive coping, emotional expression, position, positive reinterpretation,and self-blame explained 42% of CS. Conclusion: Results indicate that nurses with moderate levelsof career had high compassion fatigue and low compassion satisfaction. Thus these nurses need to be givenan opportunity to achieve self-development and improve their ability as nurses; interventions that can reinforcepositive coping strategies should be provided as personal coping strategies affect compassion fatigue andcompassion satisfaction.
