젠더화된 일본 사회의 성차별 ―기리노 나쓰오와 히메노 가오루코의 작품을 중심으로―

Abstract

This study is about the perception of sexism that is deep-seated in Japanese society. It is reflected on Natsuo Kirino’s Grotesque and X on the Street, and Kaoruko Himeno’s Because She is Stupid. Natsuo Kirino’s works depicting ‘a female student’ in uniform is more beautified or commercialized those results in plunging into a crisis. It can be seen that ‘female manager’ as the ‘mascot’ of the sports circle, described Kaoruko Himeno’s work has been inherited as the division of labor in gender’s roles based on patriarchy or male domination. The above works are in consist of recent incidents and reveal the seriousness of discrimination against women, especially those who are involved with female students. Japanese society has been firmly established to maintain sexual discrimination. The root of such a problem may be that there is a perception that the role of ‘housewife’ is required as one ‘custom’ in the structure of patriarchy. This can be one of the factors why the perception of sexism does not change in Japanese society.
