본고에서는 정치적 제도화와 경제적 제도화를 분리하여 해외직접투자를 유인하는 내재적 요인으로 분석함이 타당할 것이라 판단하고, 정치적 제도화와 FDI에 대한 분석과경제적 제도화와 FDI에 관한 분석을 각각 시행하였다. 이에 본 논문에서는 2000년부터 2015년간의 16년 기간 동안 EU 28개 회원국을 대상으로 해외직접투자 결정요인을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 448개의 관측치를 이용하여 해외직접투자 회귀분석을 시행하여 해외직접투자 결정요인을 파악하였다. 회귀분석 결과, 정치적 제도화가 FDI에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 경제적 제도화 조절효과 분석결과, 경제적 제도화가 정치적 제도화와 FDI 사이의 관계를 강화하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 이러한 결과는 경제적 제도화가 정치적 제도화와 해외직접투자 사이의 관련성에 조절변수로서 영향을 미치며, 정치적 제도화가 잘 되어 있는 경우, 경제적 제도화가 해외직접투자(Foreign Direct Investment: FDI) 효과를 보다 높일 수 있는 것으로 해석할 수 있다.
Abstract
We divide institutionalization by political one and economic one, respectively and examine direct effect of political one on foreign direct investment and moderating role of economic one on FDI. To analyze the determinants of FDI in 28 EU member countries period from 2000 to 2015, we conduct a regression analysis using 448 country-year observations. As Results, we find political institutionalization has a significant positive impact on FDI. We also analyze moderating role of economic one in relationship between political one and FDI. We find that economic institutionalization strengthens relationship between political one and FDI. This implies that economic institutionalization influences the relationship between political one and FDI as a moderating variable. We would suggest political institution and economic one reinforce, boost and enhance the effect of FDI and improve economy welfare among counties.
