분리와 통합의 기제로서 ‘혐오’ 프레임에 관한 연구: 프랑스 극우 정당의 사례를 중심으로

본 연구는 프랑스 극우 정당의 사례를 통해 분리와 통합의 기제로서 ‘혐오’ 프레임에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. 전 세계를 혼란에 빠뜨리고 있는 코로나 19 바이러스로 인해 국제사회 내 많은 변화가 발생했다. 혐오는 ‘내가 혐오한다’가 아닌 ‘우리가 혐오한다’는 집단적인 현상으로 우리의 정체성을 위협하는 것은 혐오의 대상이며 우리로부터 분리시킨다. 이러한 대상 설정은 정치인들의 혐오 발언과 혐오주의 행동을 통해 부추김을 당하거나 확장되는데 특히 언론 및 SNS와 결합하여 확대 재생산되는 현상이 발생하고 있다. 프랑스 공화주의적 동화주의는 문화적 ・종교적 ・종족적 차이는 사적 영역으로 간주하며, 통합정책은 가능한 사적 영역에 개입하지 않고 관용과 공존을 표방한다. 라이시테라는 프랑스 정체성을 두고 원주민과 무슬림 이주민 간의 이견이 발생하며, 그들의 문화를 억압하고 인정하지 않는다는 오해가 쌓이게 되었다. 이로 인해 두려움을 유발하는 사회악으로서 혐오의 대상이 되며 프랑스 원주민들은 무슬림 이민자들에 대한 문화적 혐오감이 강해진 것이다. 프랑스 시민으로서 ‘큰 우리’가 형성되어있던 프랑스에서 원주민들은 아(우리, 프랑스 시민)와 비아(무슬림 이주자)를 분리하기 위해 ’혐오‘ 프레임을 통한 분리의 정당성을 획득했을 것으로 본다.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the frame of 'hate' as a mechanism for separation and integration through the case of French far-right parties. Many changes have occurred in the international community due to the COVID-19 virus, which is causing chaos around the world. Hate is a collective phenomenon of 'we hate', not 'I hate'. Threats to our identity are objects of loathing and separation from us. These target settings are encouraged or expanded through hate speech and hateful behavior by politicians, and in particular, in combination with the media and SNS, there is a phenomenon of expanded reproduction. French republican assimilationism regards cultural, religious, and ethnic differences as private areas, and integrated policies advocate tolerance and coexistence without intervening in private areas as much as possible. There was a disagreement between indigenous and Muslim migrants over the French identity ‘Laïcité’, and a misunderstanding arose that they did not suppress and acknowledge their culture. As a result, it has become an object of hatred as a fear-causing social evil, and the cultural hatred of Muslim immigrants has intensified among French natives.
