Abstract

Nowadays, the business environment of an enterprise is very dynamic and unstable. Emerging market trends, such as short product life cycles, mass customization, and increasing industry competitors as well as unexpected events require companies to respond quickly and smoothly for these changes. The paradigm of modern business management is that individual business no longer compete as solely autonomous entities, but rather as supply chains. Business management has entered the era of inter-network competition and the ultimate success of a single business will depend on management's ability to integrate the company's intricate network of business relationships. This paper introduces the first axiomatic model of supply chains which differs from the deterministic, stochastic, and hybrid models could be constructed integrated supply chains. This paper introduces also practical oriented axioms to represent the technological and organizational relationships which are generated from the business entities in supply chains. The axiomatic supply chain model contributes to the design, selection, and combination of supply chains to solve the supply chain problems that include location-allocation decisions, distribution channel planning, supplier selection, network restructuring, inventory control, and production/distribution coordination.
