이 논문은 루쉰의 「광인일기」를 서문과 본문이 하나로 연결된 서사 텍스트로 간주하고 당시 서로 다른 독자층을 고려한 작가의 서사 전략에서 비롯된 작품으로 이해하면서 그 의미구조를 해명한다. 먼저 「광인일기」에서 두드러진 ‘식인’에 대한 공포와 불안의 서사가 서문의 정보에 의해 독자들에게 어떠한 심리적 효과를 낳는지 검토하며, 이를 토대로 ‘정상인’ 독자와 ‘비정상인’ 독자의 입장에서 각기 작품 텍스트와 독자 사이에서 발생하는 문학적 효과를 분석한다. 이어 사람들에게 ‘마음을 고쳐먹으라’라고 부르짖던 광인이 병이 나은 후 ‘후보(候補)’ 관리가 됨으로써 결국 계몽이 실패로 돌아간 데 대한 상징적 의미를 고찰하며, 그리하여 ‘아이’를 구할 주체가 누구인지를 세밀하게 논증한다. 끝으로 「광인일기」가 광인의 ‘자기부정’ 사상을 형상화함으로써 계몽의 방법적 전환을 요청하는 작품임을 밝히고, 서문에 서술된바 광인이 관리가 된 사실에 근거해 광인이 기존 현실로 복귀한 이후에도 절망적 현실에 도전하는 ‘절망적 항전’을 암시하는 작품임을 구명한다.
Abstract
This paper explains the meaning structure of Lu Xun's "A Madman's Diary" by considering it as a narrative text in which the preface and the main text are connected as one and understanding it as a work derived from the writer's narrative strategy considering different readers at the time. First, we examine how the narrative of fear and anxiety about cannibalism, which stands out in the "A Madman's Diary," produces psychological effects on readers through preface information, and analyze the literary effects between the work and the 'normal' and 'abnormal' readers. Then, we examine the symbolic significance of the failure of enlightenment after the madman recovered from the disease and explain who will save the 'child'. Finally, we reveal that "A Madman's Diary" is a work that demands to change the method of enlightenment by reflecting the 'self-negation' thought of a madman. And based on the fact that the madman became an official, we reveal that "A Madman's Diary" is a work that implies 'desperate resistance. ‘
