초록

》연구 패러다임이 실증주의에서 구성주의 패러다임으로 변화하면서 여러 학문분야와 같이 장애인을 연구대상으로 하는 특수체육 분야에서도 양적연구의 한계를 보완하기 위하여 질적연구방법론을 사용한 질적연구논문의 수가 증가되고 있다. 그러나 학계에서 질적연구의 필요성은 인식하지만 한편으로 질적연구에 대한 강한 비판과 회의가 함께 대두되고 있다. 이에 질적연구가 지향하는 목적에 따라 질적연구의 장점을 극대화하기 위해서는 질적·양적연구 가능성과 한계를 이해하고, 질적연구의 수준을 관리해야 할 필요성이 강하게 제기되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 본 연구자 개인의 관점으로 특수체육분야의 질적연구 현황과 과제를 분석하고, 분석된 결과에서 나타난 문제점을 개선하기 위한 연구자의 자질을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 목적을 구체적으로 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같이 주제를 서술하였다. 첫째로 나의 개인적인 학문적 경험의 이야기 속에서 장애인을 대상으로 하는 학문에서의 양적연구의 한계와 질적연구의 필요성, 질적연구자로서 수련과정과 고민 등을 서술하면서 질적연구와 질적연구자의 공통적 고민, 경험, 문제 등을 제시하였다. 둘째로 특수체육학계에 나타난 실증주의하의 양적연구에 대한 대안으로 나타난 해석주의의 질적연구의 특성을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로, 앞으로 특수체육학에서 질적연구가 인정받는 연구방법으로 자리잡기 위해서 질적 수준을 갖춘 예비 질적연구자들이 준비해야 할 과업과 과제들에 관하여 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 현재까지 나타난 질적연구논문을 검토하면서 나타난 문제들을 정리하였으며, 인간의 내면을 다루는 연구의 윤리성을 존중하기 위한 연구자의 자질을 생각하여 보았다.

Abstract

》With the change of paradigm shift from positivism to interpretivism, qualitative research has increasingly gained acceptance in the field of special physical education, although skeptical critics and controversy on qualitative research has been articulated. Strict requirement of understanding on limitations and advantages of both research methodologies and management of quality level of qualitative research have been emphasized to maximize the advantages of qualitative research. The article describes one way of quality control of qualitative research and qualification of qualitative researcher through a process of self-reflection as well as methodological virtuosity. Through my personal lens and perspective, the current conditionsand the tasks for further refinement of qualitative research in special physical education have been investigated. To accomplish this purpose the following specific topics are presented; first, my personal history on individual academic experiences reflected the limitations and possibilities of both quantitative and qualitative research, common considerations and problems among qualitative research, and finally training for qualitative researcher. Second, characteristics of quantitative and qualitative research have been compared. Finally tasks and qualification for qualitative researcher in preparation has been investigated with thorough analysis of the qualitative research published in the field of special physical education.
