정상화 원리에 기반한 일반학교 통합체육문화의 문제점과 장애학생의 실존성 탐색

본 연구는 질적 사례연구방법을 적용하여 정상화 원리에 기반한 우리나라 통합체육수업의 문제점을 일반학교체육문화적 관점에서 파악한 후, 장애학생이 통합체육수업에서 주체자로 생활할 수 있는 실존적 존재로서의 이론적 근거를 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 일반학교 체육교사 3명을 대상으로 일반학교 통합체육문화와 관련된내용을 참여 관찰 및 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 다음과 같은 연구결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 일반학교 통합 체육문화의 문제점으로는 1) 통합체육수업 시 열악한 학교환경, 2)일반학교 체육시설 및 용기구의 부족, 3)통합 체육을 위한 운동 프로그램의 부족, 4)통합체육수업 시행에 준비되지 않은 체육교사; 장애학생의 수용 자세미흡, 체육교사의 준비 미흡, 5)일반학생과 장애학생의 상대방에 대한 배려 미흡이 나타났다. 둘째, 일반학교 체육수업 문화에서 장애학생의 실존성 문제와 관련해서는 그 동안 일반학교 체육수업 문화에서는 장애학생을 ‘되어있는 (being)' 존재로 보고 장애학생을 학습시켜야 할 대상으로 바라보았다. 그러나 본 연구를 통해 통합체육수업에 참여하는 장애학생을 '되어가는(becoming)' 존재로 보고, 장애학생이 통합체육문화에서 살아있는 실존적 존재라는 의식을 가져야 할 필요성을 제기하였다.
Abstract
The purposes of the study were (a) to identify the current issues in inclusive physical education, and (b)to identify the theoretical basis for “existence” of students with disabilities in physical education. The qualitative data were collected through field observation and in-depth interview with three physical educators in public schools. Based on the results, two conclusions were drawn. First, There were the current issues in inclusive physical education: (a) a lack of school environment, (b) a lack of appropriate equipment and program, (c) a lack of physical activity program, (d) unprepared physical educators, and (e) a lack of social acceptance between students with and without disabilities. Second, today in physical education, a student with disability was more likely perceived as “being” of a person who needs to be educated rather “becoming” of a person who lives independent life. It was apparent that there is a need for more educational personnel to be aware of existence of students with disabilities as being independent.
