SPSS ver.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the physical activity level of children with and without intellectual disability(ID). Eighteen children in Seoul and Chungcheng-do participated in this study and were divided into two groups: children with(n=9) and without(n=9) ID. They all participated in exercise program one or two times a week. Actical(Philips) was used to measure physical activity. The data were analyzed by Independent t-test using SPSS Win Ver. 12.0. As a result, physical activity level of with ID group in whole week(p=.001), weekdays(p=.001), and weekend(p=.036) was significantly lower than without ID group. In time duration of different intensity, moderate(p=.000) and vigorous(p=.042) in whole week, moderate(p=.000), and vigorous(p=.031) in weekdays, and moderate(p<=.00) in weekend of children with ID showed significant lower level whereas sedentary in whole week(p=.027) and weekdays(p=.013) were significantly higher. In conclusion, children with ID need designed exercise program to improve their physical activity level.
