Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the causal relationship between these variables, assuming that stress(daily stress, disability stress), independent living, and physical activity as mediation variables in the relationship between the discrimination experience and the quality of life of the people with disabilities. The data and samples used PSEDSW sample of 4097 persons with disabilities in the first year and used the PSEDSW's discrimination experience, quality of life, daily stress, disability stress, independent living and physical activity as the measurement variables. Phantom Modeling Approach was applied to estimate the individual indirect effects while applying path analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, discrimination experience had a statistically significant positive effect on daily stress and disability stress, but it showed statistically significant negative effect on independent living and quality of life. Second, daily stress and disability stress had statistically significant negative effect on quality of life, and daily activity stress had statistically significant negative effect on physical activity. In addition, independent living showed a statistically significant positive effect on both quality of life and physical activity, and physical activity had a statistically significant positive effect on quality of life. Third, discrimination experience ultimately explained the quality of life based on mediating effects of daily stress, disability stress, independent living, and physical activity. Based on the above results, this study emphasizes that the quality of life is increased through the mediating effects of the independent living and physical activity, despite the discrimination experience, daily stress, and disability stress reducing the quality of life respectively.
