성인 지적장애인의 생활기술 및 자기결정기술 향상을 위한 신체활동 프로그램 개발 방향 및 요인 탐색

초록

본 연구의 목적은 성인 지적장애인의 생활기술과 자기결정기술에 대한 요구조사를 통해 신체활동 프로그램 개발 방향을 탐색하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 사회복지사(n=3), 부모(n=8), 지도자(n=5), 특수교사(n=3)을 유목적적으로 추출하여 심층면담을 실시하였으며, 성인 지적장애인에게 필요한 생활기술과 자기결정기술의 요구를 통해 개발 방향에 대해 조사하였다. 수집된 자료에 대한 귀납적 범주분석을 실시한 결과, 고등학교 졸업 후 성인이 된 지적장애인의 자립생활 영역에서는 대인관리, 건강관리, 자기선택과 자기결정, 의지와 동기부여로 범주화되었다. 성인 지적장애인의 경우 학령기부터 지속적인 교육이 이루어졌음에도 불구하고 타인과 원만한 관계를 형성하고, 사회적 역할을 수행하는데 있어 어려움을 나타냈으며, 신체활동 참여를 위한 시·공간적인 제약으로 인해 신체적·정신적 건강에서도 부정적인 영향이 나타나고 있었다. 또한, 여전히 부모 또는 타인에게 의존하는 경향이 나타났는데 이는 과거에 스스로 선택하고 결정하는 기회와 경험의 부족에 기인하고 있었다. 뿐만 아니라 낮은 수준의 성취감과 기대감은 삶의 목표에 대한 의지와 동기부여를 저하시키는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 신체활동 참여는 성인 지적장애인에게 신체적, 사회적, 심리적으로 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있었으며 성인기로의 전이 과정에서도 긍정적인 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 효과를 보다 더욱 체계적으로 유도하기 위한 프로그램의 개발 방향은 인내와 규칙 준수의 기회, 자기주도의 기회, 역할의 기회, 성공과 성취의 기회 제공이 필요하다는 것으로 도출되었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of physical activity program development through an interview of the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities on life skills and self-determination skills. In-depth interviews were conducted with 3 social workers, 8 parents, 5 adapted physical activity instructors, and 5 special education teachers. As a result of analyzing the collected data, in the area of independent living of intellectual disability who became adult after high school graduation, they were categorized into interpersonal management, health management, self-selction and self-determination, and will and motivation. In the case of adults with intellectual disabilities, despite continuing education from school age, they showed difficulties in forming a smooth relationship with others and fulfilling social roles, participating physical activity. So, there were negative effects were also seen on physical and mental health. In addition, there were still a tendency to depend on parents or others and were lowered the will and motivation for life goals. In order to induce these effects more systematically, the development direction of the physical program was determined to require patience and rule-compliance, opportunities for self-direction, opportunities for roles, and opportunities for success and achievement.
