This study focus on the relationship between the “New Era” and the “Cultural Revolution” as a special period in Chinese history. With the beginning of the “New Era” which aimed the socialist modernization, various discussions developed in the literary field. These discussions always concerned and critically reflected the “cultural revolution”, but the stance was much more than a simple dichotomy or rejection by one to the other. In order to refocus the relationship between the two periods, this study aimed to investigate the “Restricted Publications” including Zhaiyi(Foreign Literature and Art) as one of the few translated foreign literature works. This study draws such conclusion: the “New Era” and the “Cultural Revolution” is not interrupted, there was a flow of invisible the literary resources.
