한국 노년기 가구주의 다차원적 빈곤 집단 유형과 특성: 잠재집단 모형(LCA)의 적용

본 연구의 목적은 노년기의 빈곤에 다차원적인 접근의 적용과 더불어 잠재적 집단분석 실시를 통하여 노년기에 경험하게 되는 빈곤을 유형화함으로써 노년기 빈곤에 대한 효과적인 대책과 실효성 있는 정책을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데에 있다. 본 연구에서는 2015 한국복지패널(Korea Welfare Panel Study: Koweps)을 이용하여 빈곤에 취약 계층인 노년기 가구주의 빈곤을 다차원적 빈곤 개념으로 접근하여 화폐, 건강, 주거, 고용, 인적관계, 사회보장 이상 6가지 차원에 대해 살펴본 후, 각 지표 간의 관계를 이용하여 잠재집단분석(Latent Class Analysis: LCA)을 통해 노년기 가구주의 빈곤을 유형화하였다. 구체적인 연구결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 빈곤 지표들 간의 상관관계분석 결과 화폐적 차원과 비화폐적 차원들 간의 상관관계가 크지 않은 것으로 나타났으며 각 빈곤 지표들 간의 독립성이 확인되었다. 둘째, 잠재집단분석결과, 우리나라 노년기 가구주의 빈곤은 크게 세 개의 유형으로 구분되었으며, 화폐와 고용의 빈곤 경험 확률이 높은 기본 빈곤형, 화폐, 고용, 건강 빈곤경험 확률이 높은 건강 빈곤형, 그리고 화폐, 고용, 건강 뿐 아니라 여러 차원에서 복합적으로 빈곤 경험 확률이 높은 다중 빈곤형으로 유형화 되었다. 셋째, 잠재집단 유형에 따른 인구통계적 특성을 살펴보면 비빈곤집단과 비교하여 빈곤집단의 평균 연령이 더 높았으며 특히, 건강 빈곤형의 평균연령이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 교육수준의 결과, 비빈곤집단이 빈곤집단 유형들과 비교하여 중졸, 고졸, 대졸이상 모두에서 비율이 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 빈곤집단 유형들 사이에서는 큰 차이가 발견되지 않았다.
Abstract
Many scholars have acknowledged the limitations of monetary poverty measure and have suggested using multidimensional poverty as an alternative poverty measure. This study try to share same orientation and explore a new method that help us understand the reality of the poverty of older people in Korea. This study examined the types and characteristics of the multidimensional poverty in Korean older people by utilizing a latent class analysis model. Data from the 2015 Korea Welfare Panel Study are analyzed in terms of multidimensional poverty, including money, health, housing, employment, social security, and human relations. First, the result showed that the correlations between monetary dimension and non-monetary dimension were relatively low. Most of the poverty dimensions were relatively independent that they do not affect each other very much, and income support alone is not expected to solve various dimensions of poverty. Second, the multidimensional poverty in Korean older people was classified into three types; The basic poverty type is composed of people who are weak at money and labor. The health poverty type is characterized by low income, unstable labour status, and deprivation in health. The multiple poverty type have experience of deprivation in most of living area such as money, labour, health, housing, and social security. Third, the average age of poverty group was higher than that of non poverty group. Specially, the mean of age in health poverty type with deprivation in health was the highest. Regarding education, non poverty groups showed a relatively higher ratio than middle school graduates, high school graduates, and university graduates in comparison with the poverty groups.
