초록
본 연구는 한국어 교육이 개설된 한국학 교과과정의 연구를 목적으로 한국의 대학과 대학원 과정을 조사하였다. 조사 결과, 한국학 과정이 개설된 대학프로그램은 거의 없었으며, 대부분은 한국 문화와 문학에 관한 기초적인 과정들이 있었다. 국제학 대학원에서는 한국학 교과과정이 한국역사, 사회, 문화, 종교, 미술, 국제관계, 경제, 비즈니스에 관해 다양하게 개설되어있었다. 최근의 교과과정은 전통적이고 정보적인 문화보다는 현대적이고 유용한 문화에 중점을 두고 있었다. 또한, 위 연구를 통해 한국학을 공부하는 외국인 학자들이 필요로 하는 연구를 수행하고 그 결과들을 분석하었다. 본 연구를 통해 새로운 한국학 교과과정을 위한 기초적인 교과과정과 심화된 교과과정의 분리를 제안하였다. 기초적인 교과과정의 목적은 한국학에 대한 기본적인 지식을 배우는 것이기 때문에 기본적인 수준의 한국정치, 산업, 미술, 사회, 문화에 관한 과정들이다. 물론 한국어는 의사소통의 수단으로 필요하며, 한국어의 심화 과정을 통해 좀 더 자세하고 구체적인 각 분야를 깊이 있게 이해하는 과정이 필요하다.
Abstract
This study attempts to analyse the Korean study curriculum offered in the Korean language education. For this purpose, undergraduate and graduate courses are examined. There are few Korean study courses offered in undergraduate program. Most of them are introductory courses regarding Korean culture and literature. In graduate schools of international studies, the Korean study curriculum offers more diverse courses relating to Korean history, society, culture, religion, art, international relations, economics and business. The current curriculum focuses on modern and value culture rather than on traditional and informational culture. In addition, demand analysis is conducted for foreign learners in Korean study field and its outcomes are analysed. This study suggests separation of the introductory curriculum and advanced curriculum for the new Korean study curriculum. As for the introductory curriculum, its purpose is to learn basic knowledge about Korean study. Therefore, it includes a fundamental level of courses regarding Korean politics, commerce, art, society and culture. Korean language is also required as a means of communication. For advanced level curriculum, more specific and detailed programs are necessary for in-depth understanding in each field.
