초록

이 논문의 목적은 슘페터와 베블런의 경제 변화에 대한 생각을 비교하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 이 논문은 이들의 정통 경제학 비판, 경제 진화에서 기술의 변화와 제도, 개인과 사회의 관계, 그리고 자본주의의 미래에 대한 전망을 비교해 볼 것이다. 이들은 정통 경제학의 목적론적 경향과 정학 경제를 비판하는 공통점을 갖는다. 그러나 이들은 혁신을 주도하는 기업가의 개인적 성격과 기술 체계의 사회적 성격, 신결합을 하는 기업가와 기계 과정을 완수하지 못하는 사업가, 자본주의 사회의 변화과정에서 정치적·이데올기적 측면의 강조, 근로 계급·사업가 계급 간 계급 갈등 등을 보는 데서 차이를 보이고 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the views of Schumpeter and Veblen on the economic change. The paper analyses the difference between them on the views of technology and institution, the individual and the society, and the future of capitalism in the economic change, as well as their common critiques on the vision of orthodox economics. We show that their difference of views, and the specific difference in perception of the two economists regarding the role of entrepreneur and businessman in the economic change, is related to the difference of their methodology.
