초록

본 연구에서는 공화주의적 관점의 경제 대안을 모색하기 위해 공화주의를 구성하는 핵심 개념, 신공화주의의 비지배 자유 개념에 관한 경제 이론, 경제 제도 · 정책, 경제 체제 구성 원리를 논구했다. 주요한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다양한갈래의 공화주의 전통으로부터 혼합 정체, 시민적 덕성, 비지배 자유 등 핵심 개념을 추출할 수 있다. 둘째, 신공화주의는 타자의 자의적 권력에 지배되지 않는 비지배 자유의 경제 관계를 지향한다. 이는 크게 상업적 공화주의와 사회주의적 공화주의의 흐름으로 대별된다. 셋째, 신공화주의 지향의 주요 경제 제도 · 정책은 불평등을 제어하기 위해 사후적으로 자원·복지를 제공하는 것과 사전적으로 비대칭적 경제 관계를 조정하는 것으로 대별된다. 넷째, 신공화주의의 비지배 자유 개념이 관철되는 경제 체제를 조직 · 구성하는 원리로 자유로운 생산자 연합과 혼합적 시장경제를 도출한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore economic alternatives from a republican perspective. To this end, the core concepts of republicanism, theories on the concept of non-domination freedom of new republicanism, and economic systems and economic system principles aimed at republican freedom were studied. The main research results are as follows. First, key concepts such as mixed polity, civic virtue, and freedom as non-domination can be extracted from various branches of republican tradition. Second, neo-republicanism aims for economic relations of non-domination and freedom that are not dominated by the arbitrary power of others. This can be divided into commercial republicanism and socialist republicanism. Third, major economic systems and policies oriented toward neo-republicanism are roughly divided into those that provide resources ex post to control inequality and those that adjust economic relations ex ante. Fourth, the principles of organizing and forming an economic system in which freedom as non-domination is implemented are free producer associations and a mixed market economy.
