안도다다오 건축에서의 소재와 인간, 그리고 공간의식에 관한 연구

Abstract

Since the Modern era, urban space has tread the path of standardization and generalization, with nature and cultural heritages destroyed and locality and identity lost, under the pretext of functionalism, convenience, and modernism. Thus, people have been experiencing loss of humanity and a sense of alienation caused by the severance of relations between individual and others, society, past, nature, and locality. In this reality, Japanese Architect, Ando Tadao is trying to induce the recovery of humanity and spirituality by letting people meet nature as a part of life and have continuous experience of spaces and "nature abstract" in his architecture. The basis of this thinking is stem from a Japanese traditiona view of nature "Shintai" and "Jalanese traditional borrowed ladscape". And he let the people have continuous experience of bountiful spaces by space construction of strict geometic form and staggered arrangement of space. He is trying to create a fine texture revealing inherent Japanese aesthetics and a protypical space of quietness and separation not a abstractive space by using unfinished concrete,'simple and raw material', for construction materials. In addition, he suggests an alternative of creative succession for integrating modernization and preservation of the historical heritage in regard to the site and pursues inspiring and vitalizing the site. And to conclude, human value is at the center of Ando's architecture. He is not only intentionally involving substances of nature for recovering order, value and spirituality of human life but also awakening senses through the difference and integration between substance and spacial shape, tradition and modernness in the context of architecture. Also, he is saying that humans are relational beings that can never be separated from nature, environment, history, society, and other people.
