창의적 사고 과정에서 통찰 문제의 검토를 통한 심상적 사고 고찰

본 연구는 이미지가 개입하는 사고 과정으로서 심상적 사고를 제안하고 이를 통찰 문제에 대입하여 창의적 사고 과정에서의 심상적 사고 과정의 특징과 역할을 고찰하고자 한다. 심상적 사고는 창의적 문제 해결 과정에서 논리적, 언어적 사고와 대비하여 도약적, 통합적 사고의 특징을 가지며 창의적 결과물은 이러한 사고 과정의 순환을 통해 생성된다. 본 논의는 창의성을 바라보는 여러 논쟁적 입장을 분석하고 심상적 사고를 창의적 문제 해결 과정에서 논리와 비논리적 사고의 대립을 매개하는 핵심적 개념으로 제시한다. 이를 위해 이미지와 심상에 대한 철학적, 심리학적, 뇌과학의 연구 맥락의 검토를 통해 심상적 사고의 근본적 특성을 감각-운동적 성격으로 규정하고 심상적 사고의 특징과 분류를 시도하였으며 심상의 총칭적 성격에 대해 논의한다. 심상적 사고는 인간 신체의 근본적 운동 성격에 따라 전체적, 동적, 유추적 성격, 그리고 총체적 성격을 가지며 이러한 심상의 근본적 성격으로 인해 이질적인 것을 연결하는 비약적 연상을 수행할 수 있다. 이러한 이론적 검토를 바탕으로 심상적 사고가 발현되는 통합적인 능력으로서 통찰의 기존 연구를 검토하여 논의한다. 통찰은 창의적 연합이 일어나는 순간으로서 연구되어 왔으며 창의 과정에서 핵심적 활동으로 이해되어 왔다. 대표적인 통찰의 연구 주제인 쾰러의 침팬지 문제와 던커의 촛불 문제를 분석하여 심상적 사고가 통찰 문제와 창의적 문제 해결에 어떻게 개입하고 작용하는지 해석하고자 하였다. 본고는 통찰이 심상의 전체적 사고 특성으로 자유롭고 비약을 일으키며 이질적인 것들을 연합할 수 있는 능력을 발휘하며, 결론적으로 심상적 사고가 분석적 사고와 통찰적 사고의 이분법을 매개하는 창의적 사고 과정의 핵심 개념임을 주장한다.
Abstract
Imagery thinking is defined as the thinking process that image intervened, which is essential to the process of creative problem solving as integrative and leaping thinking over compared to logical and linguistic thinking. This study proposes the concept of integrated creativity as imagery thinking which intermediated the conflict beyond a logic and illogic dichotomous views in creative problem solving process. This study defines that the nature of imagery thinking is sensory motor nature based on philosophical, psychological and neuroscience studies, and tries to characterize and classify imagery thinking. Imagery thinking is characterized as holistic, dynamic, analogical nature on sensory motor schema. Therefore human being’s the creativity of imagery thinking has fundamental characters can make a free leap and join up with disparate things. Through this theoretical consideration, this study focuses insight problem which representative capacity imagery thinking comes out through reviewing of previous experimental studies. This study analyzed how imagery thinking works in insight problem solving process through analyzing Köhler’s and Dunker’s on representative insight problem. The insight has been studied as a creative moment occurring these associations, which is based on imagery’s ability freely linked with different things. Conclusively, those findings will serve integrated comprehension by the medium of sensory motor imagery thinking which escapes from dichotomous of analysis and insight in the creative queries.
